Pam Rampadarat: Don't know if there is a time limit but if other person was at fault hit them up for a rental if you cost them money they are more likely to either total it or repair it I would ask My agent to push the issue and get me my car back asap lots of luck !!!!!!!!!!!
Flor Lizardi: No. Total loss is determined by VALUE, not length of repair times.
Lawana Neemann: If you have insurance, you should be talking with your agent to see what you can expect from the other persons insurance company... 6-8 weeks sounds like a long time to me, I would get another estimate as well. You should expect a rental car and the insurance company needs to calculate that into their equation to see if it wouldn't be cheaper to just write you a check, if that's what you want. You are in the drivers seat, so get more information from your agent, then tell the other insurance company what you need.BTW, I was in an accident just before Christmas, got hit from behind and the da! mage to my vehicle was minimal, but the repair shop told me today they will need a couple days, so I will have a rental vehicle waiting when I drop off my vehicle, plus there are a few medical bills, so far the other guys insurance company has been very good to work with... You just have to know what you need and ask for it!...Show more
