Sang Hanafin: my cat HATES car rides. the only time she's in a car is to go to the vet, so i know that's why. i've had people tell me to take her in the car every now and then so she won't be so scared... that is the stupidest thing i've ever heard! why traumatize her even more? BUT, if your cat doesn't freak out about riding in the car and really does like it, i say do it... just be careful! that kinda cracks me up, actually! : )...Show more
Neely Youngblut: Kittycondos~thank you for sharing your adorable pic of those very cute pets!!And your answer very much relieved me. Because we couldn't decide to adopt a male or female kitten this time around.--ended up chosing a girl, because our older female didn't get along w/the male. Anyway, am VERY much looking forward to taking her on rides w/me soon, so she grows accustomed to car riding. And take her on walks on a leash in parks, things like that :o)TY !!!...Show more
Bennie Lantgen: my female cat HATES ridding in! the car. like she makes all these scary noises and as far as letting her run lose she is everywhere and a def. danger.... so I think it depends on the cat.
Sunshine Holets: Leashes I avoid, my cat goes in a carrier, and falls asleep the moment the car pulls off.
Delmer Pectol: You are right girl and boy should be the same. But all my cats who loved the car ride have been female? All three of my past boys hated it. And all 3 of my females loved it. But you have to start somewhat early and you will go through a few bad trips until they get used to it.You need to make a least one car trip a week for a while till they start to enjoy and actually relax and enjoy it. I never used harness I used little round furry beds. That way when on your lap they have something to hold on to until they get used to movements.
