Coralie Goldsberry: It shouldn't have any effect on metal hardware like carabiners, etc. Typical mountain/winter temperatures don't get anywhere cold enough to make AL or steel brittle. Since most climbing//rescue hardware lacks lubricants, you don't even have to worry about that getting thick and viscous. Temperatures on Mt Everest get well below zero and those climbers have no qualms about the metal hardware they use. I think yours will be okay as well....Show more
