Cliff Jacoby: Like everyone is saying, TiVo is number one! But, you're looking at getting the best bang for your buck. Personally, I've got a TiVo dual tuner DVR, as well as Cox's Dual Tuner HD DVR. The TiVo has more features, but, on top of your cable bill, you've also got to pay a monthly fee for it (which varies, depending on whether you pay monthly [$16.99/month], or go for multi-year prepaid subscriptions, which come out much cheaper [3-yr plan @ $299 = $8.31/month]). You get a limited warranty (1 year?).If you go with the Cox DVR, you of course have a monthly fee incorporated into your Cox bill (considerably less than TiVo's), and should you have a problem, all you need to do is trade it in for another box! Financially speaking, the Cox DVR is the best bet....Show more
Rashad Marecki: I personally would go with the TiVo for a number of reasons, first off they pioneered the DVR, and let's face it, their DVR is far more superior to other DVRs. TiVo also h! as the advantage of being upgraded to massive hard disks to increase storage space. TiVo also has so many advantages that are not common with cable and satellite company DVRs. Such as Broadband Connectivity which delivers thousands of movies and millions of songs over the web and Transfer Features which lets you move shows to a laptop or portable device, or easily burn them to DVD.I would go with the TiVo!...Show more
Byron Fortmann: TiVO is the best..
Aldo Decurtis: I like Tivo because it can be networked with your computer. There is Tivo desktop so you can transfer programs to a laptop and take it with you. You can even burn the programs to DVD using Direct Show Dump and Nero. Cox DVR doesnt allow you to do anything but watch it on one tv
Melina Minneweather: TIVO !
Marion Wieboldt: I have Tivo and I would highly recommend it.
