Ramon Dahlheimer: Neither - If you wanted to make a purchase that required good credit, you would have your husband be the primary on the load (or whatever). Or if it was a smallish loan ($5,000 or less) you could be the primary and your husband could co-sign which (if you don't miss payments) could help your credit score.
George Dingeldein: not necessarily...my hubby has a separate account and is paying off old bills and my credit is great...
Ronnie Barcus: I keep reading that companies like Columbia House can't follow up on their threats to turn your account over to a credit agency or whateer because they don't have your social security number. Is this true? Sounds kinda iffy to me.
Loriann Carrigan: strong chances are; no. its not that late.
Esteban Lyson: Not directly, no.... unless you wanted to get a joint loan or something (credit card, mortgage, etc). Your credit is your credit, his credit is his credit. The only way that either of your cre! dit scores would affect the other is if you are co-applicants on a loan. If one of you has bad credit and the other has good credit, that may impact the ability to get the loan (or the interest rate on it), but his won't "leak" into yours and yours won't "leak" into his. With that in mind, if one of you has poor spending habits, you may want to discuss which one of you will be in control of the checkbook and bills..... just to avoid the one with poor credit directly impacting the one with good credit. Good luck!...Show more
Elden Dedon: I called ATT for some info on some special they were having, 'cause I wanted to switch. So they did a credit check and it showed that I had bad credit. I don't know why though. If not for the cell phone bill then for what?
Morris Olexy: be smart do not give it to them.
Sammy Kar: Only if you get things in both your names and are late on payments. I believe that you would start to earn bad credit as a unit but I could be wron! g. I know that my husband and I both have different credit sco! res (mine is ALOT worse...lol)Take it from me...(I've been there) try not to get into credit card debt and live within your means.
Ismael Sixon: Your credit reports are still looked at individually. Your bad credit will impact him, though, when you are looking to apply for any type of loan jointly, such as a mortgage. Here's a site online that has information about this type of situation:http://www.creditscorenews.com/marriagedivorcerela...Good luck!...Show more
Ismael Sixon: yes, sound like it will work in your favor. The only think with him is that he can't get nothing in your name, but you can get anything you want in his.
Cassidy Pangrazio: THAT WOULD NOT RUIN YOUR CREDIT. AS FAR AS HAVING "BAD" CREDIT PERHAPS YUO DO NOT HAVE A LONG CREDIT HISTORY? ORDER A FREE CREDIT REPORT ( NOT SCORE ) AND SEE WHATS GOING ON.
Krystal Cordovano: Not in less you go about 6 months w/o paying it...affter that they will cancel your service and send it to collec! tions...then it will post on your credit report and voila..your score is lowered. but not paying it for a month won't hurt, just don't get used to doing that...
Gladys Worthing: If you jointly apply for a loan they look at the credit records of everyone applying.
Estrella Northway: This sounds like and ID theft scam. Report it to the police.
Mitchel Demry: Most cell phone companies dont report to your credit.. However if the account is really past due and sent to collections then it will report, missing one payment wont affect your credit, its when they close the account that you have to worry.. good luck
Mark Villifana: I didn't pay my T-Mobile bill one monthe but payed it the next month including that month's bill. Can it ruin my credit? Why?
Reyes Brunell: Not true. The issue you are discussing is credit accounts vs. trade accounts. My gym membership, cable company, video store, etc do report account activity to the credit reporting agencies! . If I don't pay on my 2 year gym contract, they will turn it over to a! collection agency, who will then notify the credit bureaus that I have a collections account. If they get a judgment against me, the local court may report that incidence. A trade account could be reported with just a name and address. a>...Show more
Spencer Heidtbrink: They can sell your debt to a collection agency but without a ssn they cannot place it on your credit report. If they do, contact an attorney.Be careful of who you supply your ssn to. Anyone who has it can place anything on your credit report.
Sharolyn Claybourn: What you need to do is keep everything seperate until you restore your credit. Unfortunately it takes longer to restore your credit than to ruin it. You need to bring up your credit score. I'm dealing with these issues myself, but I was the one with good credit until my husband ruined it.
Libby Berkovitch: I would hope that all folks participating here are smart enough to never give out financial information over the telephone un! less they placed the call. Even Caller ID can be spoofed.
Brenton Cornwall: No it would not.
Dick Maisenbacher: no, your credit is in different names. actually yours will damage him from getting a good deal if both names are on a loan. it would be better for you to let him get things in his name only.
Mel Crapo: In some way, your credit histories are going to cross, so I think yours will bring his down before his will bring yours up.
Joni Ziak: No, until you do not have joint accounts. Just do not add his name on your bad accounts. On other hand he can help you to rebuild your credit by opening new joint accounts or adding your name on his existing accounts. Keep in mind, joint accounts should be in good standing otherwise they will hurt both of you. Also important, when you applying for a large credit together, most companies, especially in mortgage business, consider the primary wage owner credit score to determine how much it will cost you (int! erest rate). So, be careful when you ready to do so....Show more
! Alden Sabio: Only if you both have joint accounts.
Kim Gerbino: Show up as a late payment...no biggie
